Over the past six months we had to make many changes to dew in order to balance the demands of opening a new restaurant and being able to maintain some quality in our family life. Most of these decisions decreased the attractiveness of dew, alienated our loyal customers and what we ended up with was something we were not truly proud of. The single best part of dew for us was the many great friends we made. Nothing is better than going to "work" and spending the day with friends, engaging in great conversation and providing something that people value. We felt like we had created a special place - and one that we loved being at. We feel sad about dismantling that place. Ultimately though we needed to do what we did to ensure our family's future. We've learned much.
We continue to enjoy many of the relationships that began at dew through Rooster. We truly value and appreciate these relationships, as they are the single biggest unexpected benefit of restaurant life.
For those of you who miss dew, please stop by Rooster. We are now serving banh mi sandwiches on Fridays during lunch. Having fire in the kitchen allows us to do much more and we are constantly working on new things - (big changes coming in January).
For those who miss walking down from campus - please come by in January for pizza. A great family moved in across the street and brought a pizza oven with them. We can't wait for you to meet Eric and Julie. They also brought some wicked good pizza skills and we are combining wonder-twin style to create a pizzeria that you will love.
